Manual Driving Lessons

Automatic Driving Lessons

Learn without a clutch pedal or manual gear changes, while developing the control and judgement that driving needs.

Times are Europe/London. Each lesson must fit fully inside the opening hours.
Request at least 24 hours ahead and no more than 30 days in advance. Preferred times remain subject to confirmation.

We serve Romford, Collier Row, Harold Hill, Gidea Park, Hornchurch, Havering and our other confirmed nearby areas. Pickup and return arrangements are agreed before your appointment is confirmed.

How much does a lesson cost?
Manual lessons are £35 per hour, or £70 for a standard two-hour session. Automatic lessons are £40 per hour, or £80 for a standard two-hour session.
How long is each lesson?
All regular driving sessions last two hours. The preferred start time you request must allow the full session to finish within the lesson hours.
How far in advance can I request a lesson?
Use the form to request a lesson at least 24 hours ahead and within the next 30 days. A preferred time is not a confirmed appointment; availability is checked before confirmation.
Can I request manual or automatic lessons?
Yes. Choose your lesson type in the form. Your instructor will confirm that the requested transmission is available alongside a suitable time and pickup arrangement.
Can you collect me from home?
You can request home pickup or another agreed local meeting point. Provide the full address and postcode. Coverage, safe access and travel time must be checked before confirmation.
When is my lesson confirmed?
The form’s success message and acknowledgement email confirm that your request has been received. Your lesson is confirmed only when Barka separately confirms the time, transmission and pickup details.
Can I change my appointment?
Contact Barka as early as possible to discuss an alternative. Changes depend on availability; a new time is not guaranteed. The cancellation policy still applies.
What happens if I cancel?
Please give at least 48 hours’ notice. Lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice are non-refundable under Barka’s approved cancellation policy.
How do I pay?
Barka will confirm the payment arrangements and total price directly before your lesson. This page does not take payments. Ask any payment questions when your request is discussed.
Can beginners or nervous learners request lessons?
Yes. Select your experience level and tell us what support would help. You must meet the requirements for learning to drive. Your instructor can agree a suitable starting point.
